One suggestion has been that you should believe in Creationism "because God gave us common sense".
And this refers to an important thing about the way our minds work. Our minds much prefer a simple explanation - somebody or thing designed us - to a concept such as Evolution, which has to be explained, and thought through.
The primitive part of our brain wants a quick explanation that gets it through the day. Our rational brain only fires up when it realizes that the simple explanation isn't good enough.
We've been given plenty of examples of "common sense" explanations that turned out to be completely wrong.
It's common sense that the Earth is flat - if it was round, the people on the bottom would fall off. Common sense. But observations and rational, scientific thinking, showed that the common sense view was wrong - our planet is round.
Common sense tells us we're are standing still, and the sun, moon and stars move overhead. Science says we're actually moving at 17,000 mph, and orbiting the sun. The common sense idea had too many holes in its logic, so was replaced by a scientific explanation.
Common sense tells us that the continents are fixed in place - after all they're huge landmasses - how could they move. But science has shown once again that the simple, common sense explanation is wrong.
All of these examples have a basic idea in common. The simple, "common sense" explanation was good enough for a Stone Age society when the most challenging job was counting your flock of sheep. But they didn't explain all the things we learned as we became more sophisticated. That's when we had to start thinking, and come up with rational ideas which fitted all the facts.
